The Nabateans are known as the builders of Petra, water systems in the Arabian desert and trading routes over Arabia, Mesopotamia, and the Levant. This trail covers some old Nabatean trade routes from the North of Jordan to Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba in the South.

The North of Jordan is covered with mountains along with Mediterranean vegetation and overlooking the sea of Galilee. It includes some of the highest ascents and descents of the route, making the ride a bit challenging at times. After surpassing the mountains, we will cross the rugged canyons, better known as wadis, in the Central part of the country – rewarding every drop of sweat with breathtaking views. The Southern segment is a bit smoother as the landscape changes to a more flat and desert terrain leading to the Nabatean city of Petra.

Along the way, there are many opportunities to visit some of Jordan's historical, cultural, and natural sites. From mysterious Byzantine churches to striking Hellenistic palaces, from gorges in natural parks to the Arabian desert, and of course, the necropolis and royal city of the Nabataeans – Petra.

Around 600 species of plants thrive in this reserve, and care has also been taken to create new sources of income for the more than 50 Bedouin families in the village today. Then our bus takes us to "Shobak" Montreal castle, or Mons Regalis as it used to be called, was the first Crusader fortress in a line of strongholds in the territory east of the river Jordan.
