Detailed Description About the Tour

day 1:

Leaving Amman in the morning by bus and having our breakfast on the way. The Tour starts with a visit to Shobak Castle, located in the center of Jordan along the King’s Highway. Perched in a wild, remote landscape, Shobak Castle wins over even the most castle-weary visitor, despite being less complete than its sister fortification at Karak. It’s especially imposing when seen from a distance, as it sits on a dramatic hill (formerly called Mons Realis, or the Royal Mountain). The surrounding landscape is dry and rough but nevertheless very interesting. The region in central Jordan between Dana, Shobak, and Petra is nested in a very unique ecosystem. Therefore, it offers stunning landscapes and an interesting as well as challenging terrain for cycling.

Cycling to Little Petra

After visiting the castle, you will cycle in a unique environment between hills, trees until reaching the small sister of Jordan’s most famous highlight. Shortly after leaving Shobak Castle we will go offroad and will be rewarded with magnificent views over Wadi Arabah. The different colored mountains and the views as far as the Jordan Valley are one of the best in the country. There will be a lot of change in elevation and the ride is certainly challenging. Before getting back on asphalt we will cycle through forest-like nature. The last part of the ride will take you along the King’s Highway, which is the scenic road in the center of Jordan. The King’s Highway connects Madaba just South of Amman with the Wadi Mujib Dam, The Karak Region, Tafilah, Shobak, and Petra.

After a long day, the dinner will be served at the camp! Sahtain. take a shower, drink a cup of tea, take a rest and get ready for tomorrow

Day 2:

Our ride starts at Rajif Village, South of Petra in the center of Jordan. The starting point is located about 1600 meters above sea levels.
